Hepatitis C is a blood-borne, infectious, viral disease that is caused by a hepatotropic virus called Hepatitis C virus (HCV).[1] The infection can cause liver inflammation (hepatitis) that is often asymptomatic, but ensuing chronic hepatitis can result later in cirrhosis (fibrotic scarring of the liver) and liver cancer.The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. It can also be transmitted sexually, although that's less common.It leads to cirrhosis, which is a severe, chronic form of liver disease in about 85% of people infected with it. hep c is i believe a disease that destroys your liver and left untreated u could die. caught early enough could heal u. go to your doctor and ask about the shot once a month and daily pill that u do for a year to heal hep c. if caught early enough this could happen for u. but please please get the blood work done to find out where u r at as far as the disease.i was diagnosed with hep c did the blood work and found out i didn't actually have it. i was only exposed to it. good luck peace out.
