Waivers? I was told by a recruiter that because I am diagnosed with bipolar disorder (manic depression) and treated with medication that the [U.S.] Army will not take me. I want to enlist to be a soldier in the Army. What can I do to make this happen, and who or what can help me along the way?

you are shit out of luck
Loose your medical records and say not one word to anyone about your past history. Oh, by the way, in doing this you are commiting a felony, have to let you know that also.

Legally, you can't. If you don't fully disclose any medical conditions it's considered a fraudulant enlistment and bipolar disorder isn't something they'll grant you a medical waiver for.

Check the local army recruiter, if they can get you in they will. There are things in medical records that are not found or over looked. How-ever in the Navy, I have seen guys sent home with it.Ron

You are out of luck. Guns and your condition will not mix.

A recruit i trained with had to go through a loooooong process at the medical stations just to get out army basic combat training due to this bipolar disorder. If you dont want to be caught with your mental disorder and suffer 9 weeks with the soldiers, i suggest finding a better career.

Honey, if you're dx'd with bipolar with manic----there's NO WAY you're going to get in even with a waiver. End of story. You'll need to find a different way to serve your country in a different capacity.

The Army doesn't want you or need you, stop wasting there time and tax-payers money. I guarantee you would bring it up at a key moment the very first time you were challenged or told to do something your not used to or don't want to do.

not a bloody thing. you are permanently disqualified from any and all branches of the military. Bi polar people must take their meds every day for the rest of their lives in order to function normally. you are NOT ALLOWED to be on any of those types of medication in the military, as they cannot promise that you will always have access to them.
