being unfairly treated. What is the employee ethics hotline (#)? She works at a LA fitness. Everyone working with her is quitting or has quit due to the treatment there. When she was hired she told her manager that she could not be at work on Christmas Ever, the 24th. However any other day would be fine. Her manager seemed to be ok with that and hired her. Now she gets very few days off due to no staff and is told that she must work the 24th. My friend has missed one day and asked for someone to cover her shift. The coworker never showed up, she recieved a verbal warning. Another day she could not make it so she talked to her manager and he said it was ok as long as there was coverage. This time there was and yet she was written up. No one can cover for her for this 24th. She told her manager that she needed that day off otherwise she would not work for that company... Now she will be fired if she is absent. She went to the manager and asked for the ehtics line and the manager refused to give it to her. This is unethical by far.She works at a LA fitness. I would suggest that your friend keeps a log of times and dates of occurences (preferably at home where her idiot boss can't see it) and then if she is canned, she has a case for the labour board or lawyer, depending on what exists in your area.
