Acid reflux is when acid from your stomach rolls upward into you esophagus. It causes pain or a burning sensation. It is like indigestion or "heart burn". Sometimes the pain is so intense that the person feels like they are having a heart attack. There are several things you can do to avoid acid refux: don't lie down after eating. avoid spicy or acid foods, sleep with the head of you bed elevated 2", take antacids before going to bed or OTC H2blocker such as Prevacid or Pepcid 20 minutes before eating.
