When you take them to the hospital. You know that's heart burn. That has got to be painful. I'm getting a mental picture of one of mine with that and I'm about to cry. Your baby is getting dehydrated besides. Take your baby to a doctor. That's got to be the worst.

Is the baby on medication? Both of my kids had horrible acid reflux. One is 6 yrs now and was on the medication until he was 2. My other child is almost 3 and she is still on it.It just depends on how severe the case is. Is the baby vomiting or spitting up. There is a difference. My kids continued to spit up even on the meds, but as my 3 year old got older she was actually starting to vomit at night. Changed her meds and it controls it.

Do you mean, when does he/she out-grow it?Every baby is different. Mine grew out of it when he started solids - at about 4 months.My doctor gave him baby Zantac which helped the pain of the heartburn

my neighbors baby had the same issue with her baby and it completely went away when she started her on solids. It usually is bc their esophagus is not mature and it takes time. Patience and good luck.
