My son in seven and for about two days he has had pain in the bottom of his foot. He has to limp on it and I don't see any reddness or swelling. Any ideas on what it may be would really be appreciated...

Did he pull a muscle? What was he doing when the pain occurred?Best see a podiatrist or his doctor.

My son had a similar thing happen with his foot. Long story short, there was a clean piece of glass about 1/2" deep. No swelling or redness, it took an xray to see it and it needed to extracted by the doctor. I hope your son's foot gets better soon.

I don't know if this will help you or not but does your son skate. sometimes it stresses the heel of the foot. What i can really tell you is to take him to your family doctor asap.

Could be plantar fasciitis, or similar strain on the muscles/tendons of the sole of the foot. Ice should help. Make sure he is wearing good sneakers all day with good arch support. Lots of kids wear shoes that look cool, but do not support the foot. Has he been checked for flat feet?
