Sharp pain in upper abdomen and I am 18 weeks

pregnant? All of a sudden today I have sharp pains in my upper abd. Constent and annoying as anything. I've tried pain meds and heat. Any suggestions?

i would give your doctor a call to make sure everything is ok...i know that sometimes with preeclampsia you can get upper abdomanal pains...but your not far enough along for that, i dont think. i would give the doc a jingle and let them know whats going on=) good luck hun, i wouldnt worry, its probably nothing!

Sharp stabbing pains might be a sign of Round ligament pain...I would call the Dr. just to be safe.. :)

I had them too -- My DR told me they were pains from the uterus streching and growing. But you should go to the DR, or at least call them, just to be 100% safe. I don't think anything is wrong, pregnant women get a tond of aggrivating and discomforting new cramps, pains and other obnoxious irritants that no one tells you about until they happen lmao :P But you should definately check, just to be safe. good luck --mordi
