I think I have MS. But of course I'm not a doctor and neither are people from yahoo answer, but I need some advise before i go see one. I have had head pain for a really long time. Then it was eye pain. Sometimes I see flashing lights from the corners and top of my eyes. I have muscle weakness in my arms and hands legs, slurred speech, and forgetfulness. My neck hurts when i move it side to side. Everyone in my family has noticed I drag my feet when i walk. I am really scared, I'm only 18 years old. I just seen a doctor on Tuesday but before i can tell her some of these things she wanted me to get my eyes checked "before we do anything else". She wrote a referral for that and I don't know how long that is going to take. At the time I did tell her about the pain in my neck but when she told me to move my head side to side and front and back there was no pain. Yesterday I had pain when i did it. I don't know if this is all in my head because I gained 60 pounds over the past year &a half. Also I don't eat healthy and i don't work out. I have been really depressed and stressed out since i had my baby in 2006. Can this pain be because of my weight and unhealthy eating habits, and stress and depression? Thanks any advise would be greatThank you all, so far, for your answers. Also thanks rj for your kind words. I am really stressed I have never felt this way before in my life and I'm only 18 years old. I take care of my son and I go to school which makes me even more stressed out because I want to spend time with my baby.

My best friend has MS and was diagnosed at 19. Get your eyes checked and listen to your doctor. There's no one test that will tell that you have MS, there's a ton of other tests that must be done to rule out other diseases. Check out the National MS Society's website.

Keep following up with the doctor. It can take time to get a correct diagnosis. Flashing lights could be from migraines, as could the forgetfulness, etc... You can have a migraine without the headache- it's called an ocular migraine. So maybe you just have that. Of course it could be MS or Lupus or fibromyalgia, or any number of things.Even if you have a chronic illness you can still have a fun, full life and accomplish all you have dreamed of. It might slow you down, but it won't stop you!God bless!
