Steam rooms and saunas will probably make it worse as it is difficult to breathe in those environments to begin with - although WARM air WILL relax the bronchioles in your lungs and make respiration somewhat easier.

since I stopped smoking 30 a day, its been worse than ever.!An ioniser is good, not too dear, you can get them from Argos.

Saline Wash to the nose, then blow is more powerful. Stay away from triggers..Use you inhalers as prescribe by your Doctor

Sophie - if your asthma is really bad at the moment it means that your asthma medication is not controlling it and may have to be adjusted. Most asthma sufferers get times when it gets worse - but this is something too important to be wasting time asking on YA. Go see your GP or the Asthma Nurse Specialist. Don't wait until you have a severe attack and end up in A&E

Different people find that different things trigger their asthma. I know that I suffer worst when there's a lot of pollen around, or if I've had a chest infection it sparks off asthmatic symptoms too.You may have an allergy to something that's common at this time of year. The damp, cold evenings may be affecting you. The steam rooms, etc will treat the symptoms, but not the cause.

hello i am asthma to i find that steam does work but not for long you need to do it a few times a week i use a towel and put it over the sink with boiled water and a bit of vicks and put my head under the towel for about 30 mintures and i do this 2 to 4 times a week . try to stay out of smokey rooms and cold damp rooms to
