i did the same thing as you did many years ago. when i was 19 years old. im 28 now. but n-e-ways. it wasnt purple or anything i guess i sprained it some how.it turned sideways when walking. cant remember how long it took to heal. all i know is when i did it it must have done something to a muslce fiber in my foot or something.because after i sprained it. it would heal and id be fine. then maybe a month or 2 later. the same spot on my foot started hurting again.then it would heal up. then another month or 2 later it started up again.i was on and off crutches for like a friggin year.i guess i must have tore a muscle fiber in my foot or injured it pretty bad is all i can guess.but what ever i did it really weakned my foot. to the point of constant injury...i ended up reading an article just by accident in a book called arnold schwarzenegger s encyclopedia of modern body building. in which arnold injurs himself. and goes to the doctor. and the doctor says so are you gonna lay around and do nothing and let that muscle get weaker and weaker. or are you gonna get back in the gym and get it in shape. and arnold replys somethun like h*LL yeah im gonna get it back in shape.so i did what the doctor told arnold. i got my weakned muscle from injury back in shape.doing alot of calve raises and squats. and the injury within a month disapeared entirely so theres a tip from me to you. im not telling you to go run and do some calve raises right this second or anything thatd be crazy. but if you find your foot going through what i went through. id do some work on it ..better yet id wait till it heals up good. than id definetly do some calve raises and some squats to strength the foot up. unless you wanna go through my ordeal sorry just thought id share my old injury story with you...

You probably twisted your ankle. Try soaking it in a warm Epsom salt foot bath. Then, ice it and wrap it up. Stay off of it for a while too. If it continues to hurt, see a doctor, but try soaking it first.
