...immunization while pregnant? Going to nursing school & the Hep. B is a requirement.

I am not sure, but I know they make exceptions I got this waived, because I had already been exposed to it when I was very young, I was also pregnant, they don't like to hear this so becareful when you tell them.

the shot IS safe for pregnant women and has no effect on the devoloping baby.You are usually screened for this at your 1st visit when they do blood draws and if you turn out pos. they will give you the shot and they will treat the baby right after it is born to help keep it from becoming infected. (if you tested pos.)

The Hep B requirement can be and SHOULD be waived while you are pregnant.

You need to inform your school that you are pregnant. Normally doctors do not like to give any form of immunization shots to women who are pregnant unless there is a compelling reason to do so.

It has been proven that it's not harmful while pregnant, but... pregnant women are advised to wait until after pregnancy to get the vaccine. Just talk to your ob/gyn.
