Alot of people delegate back to God that which is their responsibility. He will do His part, but you have to do yours.

If you are serious about stopping drinking you would attend some AA meetings. And stay away from bars and try to hang out with people that don't drink.You have 2 do your part in order for God to help you and for the prayers to work.

It is not so simple to answer your question. Judge for yourself. God is not to blame, then you are left not blameless. I don't want to condemn you. I want to help you, to help to understand the truth of God. Only with the Holy Spirit of Christ you can win in your struggle against your sin. You must take it all in most serious way. You must fall on your knees before God and entreat Him to help with all your heart. Pour out everything what you have in your soul before Jesus and entreat Him to clean you from your sins. Wait and keep praying. But all of it is not enough. You need to understand that you belong to the Lord and you have no way back. If you will turn back it can be worse for you, then ever was. Submit to God, resist to devil with all your strength. It is easy to say than to do. It is a war, understand it. We must not underestimate the enemy. And this is not everything yet. Remember, what is impossible to a man is possible to God. We can do nothing without Him. You need to have very strong desire to free from your sin. May God help and bless you
