yes it does, it is a nerve stimulent to relax the withdrawls, but do not take this med for a long period of time, it is addictive,

It is definitely not a good idea. I had serious alchohol problems and withdrawal and there are better ways than taking prescription drugs when you shouldn't. Load up on sugar, to make up for the sugar intake you don't have anymore. Also a lot of electrolytes in sports drinks help. Good luck!

Probably not a good idea. Since xanax is highly addictive too. They use ativan for signs/symptoms of DT's-the increase in blood pressure, nausea/vomiting, hand trembling.

yes any benzodizapines help with alcohol withdrawl. mostly, the shakes one gets going through the withdrawl. But, like someone has said it's very addicting because i was on it for 9 yrs.
