My son is 4 months. The pediatician had me start him on cereal due to Acid Reflux.Within the past week it has gotten alot worse. It seemed like the first week he did alot better, but now the projectile vomiting has gotten worse,he screams & cries all day long instead of just during & after feedings. He never offically tested him for it.I know thats what it has to be.He vomits(projectile)with every feeding, cant hold still while eatting, screams & cries during burping and after eatting, not keeping really anything down, all day long he is fidgity, fussy, cranky, crying & screaming. He pulls at his face and arches his back, gas(colic)he's almost impossible to hold, its almost like he's trying to throw himself. Its been a nightmere, from the day he was born, everyday has been like this. They kept telling me it was colic, but Im pretty sure its Acid Reflux.Monday he has a app.,so Im going to tell the dr. to start him on some kind of meds.PLEASE HELP!!! I need advice from experienced Mom's with Acid Reflux. Please share your opinions and thoughts. It sounds like Reflux, doesnt it?? How do the meds work?? What kind works best with the least side effects. I just wish I would have known earlier on. The pediatrician and everyone else thought it was colic. But within the past 3 weeks it has gotten extremly worse everyday. I take him Monday to the pediatrician. So please share advice. Thanks very much!!!Its not that he does want to eat, he really wants to, hes just in alot of pain while eatting. And its not just normal spit up, its like the whole bottle coming out projectile.

I've never heard of a baby having colic from the day they are born. Colic is usually diagnosed after other things are ruled out. If he is fighting eating that much it doesn't sound like acid reflux, which is where actual stomach acids come up the esophogus. My baby was put on zantac, and it seemed to help a little, but he still spit up until he was 10 months old. Good luck at the docs on Monday.

It sounds some of the reflux, but I would worry more about the colic, you can get simethicone drops over the counter that are very safe for the colic, my son went through this and HIS formula had to be changed many times he is on Similac Neosure now and he does best. As for the reflux you can get doctor prescribed medicine and I also used an over the counter antacid only a small amount like 1/4 a teaspoon, it needs to be liquid and only contain calicum carbonate, which is safe for babies. How are his bowel movements....you need to get relief so if your doctor won't help take him to someone else....sounds like all of yall need relief....

have you check if your son have enlarge tonsils???? My son use to vomit a lot up to his second year and it took forever to feed him every meal (sometimes up to 1 hr). Good thing my wife is very patient. maybe, your son doesn't like the formula you are giving him. or the formula is not suitable for your son..

Right, my baby had reflux and so did I through my two pregnancies. So severely in fact that I was hospitalised six times and put on morphine. When my baby boy (now 9 mths) showed signs of reflux I wondered if what worked for me could work for him and it did. The treatment - Metamucil soluble fibre once a day. I gave it to my baby via my breastmilk (don't know about giving it directly - ask your GP if you have any concerns). The reason it works is because reflux can be a symptom of a slow bowel. To avoid overloading the bowel, the stomach holds food rather than passing it on. Then the stomach can become overloaded and then the food has only one way to go > back out the way it came in ie: reflux. The discomfor can also be caused by movements in the bowel. Remember, it's all pretty new down there and there are possibly a few kinks in the works. Once again, soluble fibre can help the bowel clear and get better movements. It can't hurt to try and it could just do the trick. Good luck.
