Yes, homeopathic remedies that you put under your tongue by drops works well without the pain of shots. The best way to do this is to find a naturopath that does muscle test (to test for allergies (painless), and that treats with homeopathic remedies. They also sell these at health food stores. My naturopath always has me take less than it says on the bottle because I just never need a full dose of anything. So the dose on the bottle doesn't fit everyone's needs. Also there are these little vials of small pellets that are for allergies too. Look up homeopathy and allergy to see which one fit your needs. Diane L, above me, offers some good advice. I just wanted to add a few things from my personal experience. :) I used to have very irritating seasonal allergies each spring. However, after I became a regular patient of chiropractic, eventually these allergies almost completely disappeared! I thought this was AMAZING, but my chiropractor said it actually is rather common among folks who take care of their chiropractic health. I didn't even start going to the chiro for allergy reasons, so that made it all the more happily surprising that my allergies improved so greatly!I've also heard good things about acupuncture helping allergies. I can't speak from personal experience on this, because even though I recently started going to an acupuncturist, it's not for seasonal allergies, since my allergies all but went away years ago with the chiro. However, I know of other people who greatly reduced their allergies, thanks to acupuncture. :) It's certainly worth a try, and is 100% less invasive than taking drugs or even herbs.

The word 'allergy' means an altered or abnormal tissue reaction after exposure to an antigen (also called an 'allergen'). The allergic reaction occurs if the body tissues are sensitive to the allergen. The allergen may reach the tissues by direct contact with the skin or various mucous membranes of the organs or through the bloodstream after absorption. Almost any part of the body can be affected by allergies. Allergic reactions are caused by a wide range of substances and conditions. These include pollens, dust, cosmetics, and animal hair; poisonous plants, serums, vaccines, and drugs; physical agents such as heat, cold and sunlight, as well as a variety of foods. The foods that commonly cause allergic reactions are oranges, milk, eggs, wheat, fish and other sea foods, chocolates, tomatoes, and strawberries.Dietetic errors and faulty living styleAllergy is an indication of disharmony caused by dietetic errors and a faulty style of living.Refined, processed foods and stressIt is also caused by excessive consumption of refined and processed foods, loaded with numerous chemical additives, many of which cause powerful reactions. Emotional and psychological stress can also lead to allergies.Allergies Home RemediesAllergies treatment using NutrientsCertain nutrients have been found beneficial in the prevention and treatment of allergies. Often the intake of vitamin B5 or pantothenic acid brings great relief to the sufferer. This vitamin may be taken in a dose of 100 mg daily for a month. In such cases, liberal amounts of pantothenic acid helps even though the recovery takes several weeks. A dose of 400 mg of vitamin E taken daily for four to six weeks is also beneficial as this vitamin possesses effective anti-allergic properties.Allergies treatment using Castor OilIt is found that five drops of castor oil in half a cup of any fruit or vegetable juice, or plain water, and taken on an empty stomach in the morning, is beneficial for allergies of the intestinal tract, skin, and nasal passages.Allergies treatment using LimeLime is considered an effective remedy for any kind of allergy. Half a lime may be squeezed in a glass of lukewarm water and sweetened with a teaspoon of honey. It can be taken once daily first thing in the morning for several months. This remedy not only flushes the system of toxins but also acts as an antitoxic and antiallergic agent. However, those who are allergic to citrus fruits should not take recourse to this remedy.Allergies treatment using BananasOne or two bananas a day are useful for those who are allergic to certain foods and who consequently suffer from skin rashes, digestive disorders, or asthma, The fruit does, however, cause allergic reactions in certain sensitive persons and they should avoid it.Allergies treatment using Vegetable JuicesA quantity of 500 ml carrot juice or a combination of carrot juice with beet and cucumber juices, has been found beneficial in the treatment of allergies. In the case of mixed juices, 100 ml each of beet and cucumber juices should be mixed with 300 ml of carrot juice to prepare 500 ml or half a litre of mixed juice. This should be taken once daily.Allergies dietFresh fruit juicesThe best way to prevent or overcome allergies is to strengthen overall physical resistance so as not to fall an easy prey to every allergen that one comes across. To start with, the patient should fast on fresh fruit juices for four or five days. Repeated short juice fasts are likely to result in better tolerance to previous allergies.Mono diet of vegetables or fruitsAfter the juice fast, the patient can like a mono diet of vegetables or fruits such as carrots, grapes, or apples for one week, after that. After that, one more food may be added to the mono diet. A week later, a third food may be added, and so on. After four weeks, protein foods can be introduced, one at a time. In case an allergic reaction to a newly-introduced food is noticed, it should be discontinued and a new food tried. In this way, all real allergens can be eventually eliminated from the diet.Avoid food like tea/coffee or containing chemical additives and preservativesFoods which should be excluded from the diet are tea, coffee, chocolate, cola drinks, alcohol, sugar and products made from it, refined cereals, meal, fish, chicken, tobacco, milk, cheese, butter, smoked and salted pickled foods, and foods containing any chemical additives, preservatives and flavourings. * Green tea: This common table tea has a natural antihistamine. Drink one or two cups a day and sweeten with honey. You can also use black tea, since it is from the same plant as green tea, but it isn’t as effective. * Honey: Make sure you purchase local honey. Use it to sweeten teas, or a small amount of it plain. Local honey can help you became resistant to certain pollens. The beneficial qualities of honey are lost, however, when it is cooked. * Chamomile Tea: This popular tea is also a natural antihistamine. Drink one or two cups a day and sweeten with honey. Don’t use if you are allergic to ragweed because it can make your symptoms worst. * Ginger: Peel and crush a one-inch piece of fresh ginger root. Place in a mug and pour boiling water over. Steep for 5-10 minutes. Sweeten with honey, if desired. Ginger is both a natural antihistamine and a mild decongestant. * Garlic: Garlic helps stimulate the immune system and is also a decongestant and used for coughs. Cook with it as much you can. If you enjoy the taste, add it raw to salads and salad dressings because fresh is more effective. * Peppermint Tea: This tea is used to help relieve congestion. In the warmer weather, it tastes refreshing iced and can help relieve sinus problems and coughs. * Thyme: This is also a wonderful tea for congestion. It can be used for coughs, sinus problems, and stuffy noses. Prepare a tea using one teaspoon of the dried herb for every cup of water. Never take more than one cup per day. You can also use it in cooking. * Oatmeal: If your allergies give you hives, oatmeal can be really useful. Pour one cup of boiling water over one tablespoon oatmeal. Let it steep for thirty minutes. Strain it, and then apply the liquid on your hives with a cotton ball. This also works to relive bug bites. Refrigerate the solution and use it in a few days. You can also make this in larger amounts and put it in your bathwater (about four cups of water and four tablespoons of oatmeal). * Apple cider vinegar: My grandmother used to have me put apple cider vinegar on any bug bites or hives to cut down on the itching. Just dilute the vinegar down with a little water and apply it with a cotton ball. You can also put a little vinegar in your bath. Vitamin C in high doses can have a dramatic effect in improving allergy symptoms, particularly hay fever and asthma, due to it's ability to counteract the inflamation responses that are part of such conditions. The researchists conclude that the digestive system has a link to all allergies and not just those caused by food. Proper digestion aids the body to clear out toxins. When digestion becomes impaired, a greater threshold of toxins have to be dealt with and eventually the body becomes overwhelmed. This is what leads to the allergies. There are many good herbs and spices to help cure allergies; cayenne pepper being one of the most highly recommended, along with ginger, garlic and onions. To further aid the body's journey back to health a program of cleansing and detoxification which consists of full body massage and steam saunas help the toxins to be iliminated as the person perspires. Very often, we see also, programs of fasting being applied using fruit and vegetable juices and at times herbal teas. The duration of the fasts varies depending on the severity of the case, but usually run from two days to a week. It is recommended while fasting to use enemas once per day.
