I had 4 years worth of pap smears that said I had cervical dysplasia. I had to biopsies and a LEEP. I was never officially diagnosed with HPV, but I did have an RN at one point that told me that was most likely what was causing the dysplasia and that it may go away on it's own. It has now gone away because now all my pap smears are normal. I would't get too worried just yet!

It most likely just means that you have HPV (which your GYN probably already made you aware of). HPV symptoms include the cause of cervical dysplasia, and while there isn't a cure for HPV, it's likely that if you have it, you will see mutliple occurances of dysplasia. I wouldn't worry about cervical cancer if your GYN is classifying the dysplasia as mild, 70% of "mild" cases go away on their own, and the other 30% can take up to 10 years without treatment to evolve into cancerous cells. So as along as you keep up with regular visits you should be able to stay on top of any cases of dysplasia before they have a chance to become cancerous.

no you do not need to worry just keep in touch with your doctor and do check ups regularly.
