A family member has a small dachshund with the problems you describe. He is now on organic venison - doing much better. You can get this from some small pet supply companies - do an online search. Organic rabbit is also good, again, small pet supply, both come in rolls, you cut off as much as you need and freeze or refrigerate the rest. The vet has canned low fat food, but it is not organic or very nutritious. If your dog can absorb it, brown rice and white meat, skinless, bonless chicken is o.k., but the little guy I am talking about could not even eat the chicken, so venison and rabbit is what he is getting now. Seems to be better on that.Good luck.

See what your vet recommends, he may suggest Hills ID, dry or canned. http://www.hillspet.com/zSkin_2/products/product_details_eu.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=8455244 41760503&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=1408474395183417&bmUID=1195163243044&bmLocale=en_GB

I know a guy who walks his chocolate Lab with my two. The Lab is epiletic. They switched the Labs diet to James Wellbeloved and the fits have stopped.
