All my life I have suffered from severe social anxiety, I can't walk down the street without a panic attack. I've been managing to go to college and work by drinking a few bottles of wine a day at least and then going to the pub afterwards.I can't give up drinking how will I function? I am willing to get therapy for my anxiety but what if it's too late, I can't stop drinking right now because I'll just sit in the house and not be able to turn up to class.

YOU NEED HELP. Get to a therapist NOW. It's not too late -- how can it be too late? You're still young and even if you were older, you'd still need help. The only thing worse than social anxiety and panic attacks is ALCOHOLISM. You need to unscrew yourself now. Even if it means dropping out of school temporarily while you fix your problems. GET HELP or you will kill yourself within the next few years.Good luck.

Telephone Alcoholics Anonymous, they are sympathetic and helpful, and you will find them in The Yellow Pages.

Alcoholism is a disease, and like any disease, it's a good idea to get some help to try to beat it. One organization that has helped countless alcoholics overcome their problems with drinking has been Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). Check your Yellow Pages and try to get to the next available meeting. I know a couple of people who have been successful with AA.It's a really hard thing to overcome, but, as they say, the first step is recognizing that you have a problem. You're on your way to recovery right now.Therapy to help you deal with your social anxiety would also be a good idea. I would think both, together, would give you a good chance of getting healthy.I wish you all the best in beating this devastating problem.

can i say congrats on you admitting you have a problem as the 1st step to recovery is admitting that you have a problem.Go and talk to your doctor they can refer you to see a specialist in alcoholism and they might be able to get you to see a specialist for your anxiety sooner. The doctor Might offer you some medication to help with the anxiety but most probably wont be able to drink whist on these.Best of luck to youI'm not to sure on what else i can advise, but please call the doctor in the morning as alcohol can have terrible effects on the body. I know all to well the effects as my dad and ex husband both were alcoholics but my dad died of it (drank for 20+ yrs)

Sounds like you need help with the Anxiety! What you seem to be doing with the Booze is self medicating, which can be quite dangerous.Talk to a Doctor and more than likely they will put you on meds for the Anxiety then you won't need the wine.

go to your doctor, a friend or family and tell them. You need to get help. You have got over the first stage admitting that you have a problem. Thats the first stage of getting better - well done. Good luck

i can give you advice as someone who's been down that road..i know exactly what you mean as you cant function properly without drink and you are afraid to stop, the problem is you are causing yourself serious damage and it dose'nt get better..if you go to see you gp and tell him your problem he will help you but you have to want to help yourself as you are the only one that can do it. He can prescribe a drug called chloradiapoxide which helps relax you and relieves the shaking, or if you dont feel you can do it at home he can refer you to a rehab clinic, I dont know how bad you are but i can only hope you find the strenth you need before it is too late,,I wish you all the very best and remember if you really want to stop you can do it, Good luck
