In CHF there are many complications that may arise throughout treatment and they can vary widely from person to person. As far as psychological complications, most common is depression and not due to the disease itself, but due to the inability to cope with the diagnosis. This is perfectly normal as with any life changing diagnosis. Physical complications can vary depending upon what stage in CHF you are in. They vary from mild to moderate edema, fluid in the lungs, shortness of breath amongst other things. In some patients I have seen cases of infection called sepsis towards the later stages of CHF, but that is not a certainty that any one person diagnosed with CHF will get sepsis. I have found that the American Heart Association has some wonderful literature on the disease, I strongly advise that you go there and check it out. I wish you the best of luck! Feel free to contact me if you should need anything further.Article on CHF from American Heart Association:http://www.americanheart.org/presenter.jhtml?identifier=4585
