...cancer.. is it also routine to get tested for HIV? A girl Im dating swears that she was tested for HIV when she was also tested for cervical cancer and I simply don't believe her. If anyone can help me out here I would really appreciate it. Thanks

This would very from office to office, but it would make seance for OBGYNs to test for HIV every chance they get. It sounds reasonable.

i don't know about in other offices, but in every GYN office i've ever been to, you had to ask for the blood test. they don't just do it. when they screen for cervical cancer, they do the pap test with the swab. it could be routine in her GYN office, or maybe she asked for it. in any case, it's ok if you go together and get tested together.
