...the urine? Okay..this is going to sound weird...but I have to ask. I've had a urinary tract infection and I am taking medicine for it. You know the stuff they give you that basically numbs where you pee so it doesnt burn? and it changes the color of your pee? Well,I thought for sure I started my period..but my mom tells me that the medicine can do that. I'm pretty confused.. I'm pretty sure it's my period..but she has argued that it's the medicine.

Surely, you would know your own menstral cycle better than your mom would. It also sounds like while they might have diagnosed you with UTI, the blood can stem from a bladder infection (which still falls under the UTI category).

The medication used for UTI's can tint the color of more than urine - vaginal discharge, tears, saliva...it's a common side effect. I was told not to wear my contact lenses when I was taking my medication for a UTI because it could discolor the lens. Don't use color as a deciding factor as to whether or not it's your period - use the consistency of it.
