Stage 5 of any cancer is a very late and advanced stage. Very likely past the point of treatment being successful. Most likely the cancer has moved to other area's as well. This is a time to make the most of each day.

I would guess it means the person is already dead bc cancer is in 4 stages (including prostate) with 4 being the worst.

stage, staging: The extent of a cancer within the body. If the cancer has spread, the stage describes how far it has spread from the original site to other parts of the body.http://psa-rising.com/prostatecancer/staging.htmhttp://www.syl.com/articles/prostatecancerstagesandtheirtreatment.htmlhttp://www.cancerhelp.org.uk/help/default.asp?page=3505#stage

When a biopsy confirms cancer - grading is to determine if the cancer is a slow- or fast-growing. The most common cancer grading scale runs from 1 to 5, with 1 being the least aggressive form of cancer and 5 the most aggressive. (5 - 7 is aggessive). The links below will give you information.
