thighs? Ouch! Sitting down to write this hurts so much! Okay this morning...no rash. Showered, put on clothes. Haven't changed any detergents or beauty products. Normal day at home hanging out, watching movies. Haven't been outside. Around 2 1/2 hourse ago noticed pain at the waistband of my sweats....looked in the mirror to find a horrible rash that hurts like hell. On both sides of my belly, wrapping around back, down both buttocks and thighs. Burns, tingles but NO itch. Very painful to the touch. No other symptoms other than I have had an achy flu-like feeling the last couple of days. This rash came out of seemingly nowhere and it HURTS. Any ideas or suggestions?Any ideas....Well you are all wrong! But thanx so much for your answers. For those of you who said "scabies" you didn't read that I have NO ITCH.....As it turns out I have what is called Folliculitis or the "Hot tub rash". Went to Doc today and it is a simple and uncontagious skin infection. A little antibiotics and I'm all set. That's what I get for hot-tubbing too much.....although until now I didn't think you could hot tub too much! Damn it! LOL

go to www.webmd.com. its a site for anybody to browse/ ask about anything medical related (minor or major). i think there is a section on rashes, and i think you can look up symptoms or ask questions.

You definitely need to see the doctor immediately. You may have a severe allergic reaction to something or even an insect bite perhaps.

to know for sure to go the doctor, like a ready care place where you can just walk in and see a doctor with out a appointment. but by the way your describing it, it sounds a lot like shingles. i had them, not fun. do u have a weak immune system ( do you get sick often). shingles are a a form of chicken pox, since chicken pox virus never leaves your body, they can come back if you have a weak immune system, its called herpes zoster. if it is shingles, they will give you antibiotics and medication like valrax. good luck and go see that doctor!!!!

Wow Stubby...those are some big diagnoses. MRSA and Necrotizing Fasciitis...It could be a lot of things, really only a doctor can tell you...go to your doctor ASAP (I don't think an ER visit is really needed) Make a same day appointment at your Doctor's office tomorrow, or go to an Urgent Care clinic (that's different from an ER)In the mean time, a warm soak in the tub could make it feel better, and sleep in loosed clothing tonight.

Yeah, i'd go to the doctor. It could only be a sunburn, but it might be something far more serious, such as scabies

HI Bomb-Diggity: I am not a physician. I t sounds like several things. The first thing that comes to mind is an allergic reaction to some form of medication or food. It also sounds like poison ivy, poison oak or sumac. Since you don't go outdoors that might eliminate that choice. Suggest you call your family doctor asap...if that isn't possible go to the nearest pharmacy, talk to a phamacist for some kind of temporary relief.

My guess is you could be having some type of allergic reaction. You could be breaking out in hives. Have you been having a temperature?Hives and Angioedema CausesHives and angioedema are reactions of the skin to the release of histamine or other chemicals into the blood. This is often, although not always, due to an allergic reaction. * There are many causes of hives and angioedema. At least half the time, the specific cause cannot be determined. * Some of the more common triggers are the following: o Infections such as viral illnesses, especially in children o Allergies to food, medications, cosmetics, soaps, and detergents o Insect stings and bites o Transfusions of blood or blood products o Emotional and physical stress o Physical agents such as sunlight, heat, cold, water, or pressureWhen to Seek Medical CareContact your health care provider if you have hives or angioedema. After hearing your symptoms, he or she may want to see you for an office visit. If you are having any of these symptoms along with hives or angioedema, you may be having an anaphylactic reaction. Go immediately to a hospital emergency department. * Difficulty with breathing or swallowing * Wheezing * Abdominal pain, vomiting, or diarrhea * General weakness * Feeling dizzy, light-headed, or faintHives and Angioedema Treatment Self-Care at Home * Stop any food or medicine identified as the cause of the hives or angioedema. * In very mild cases, no treatment at all may be required. * If symptoms are making you uncomfortable, take a nonprescription antihistamine, such as diphenhydramine (Benadryl), by mouth, per the package instructions or as directed by your health care provider, until symptoms subside. These can be effective for mild episodes. CAUTION: Antihistamines may make you too drowsy to drive or operate machinery safely. * Cool compresses or baths may help with the discomfort. * Avoid hot baths or showers. * Avoid direct sunlight. * Wear light, loose-fitting clothing. * Avoid strenuous activity or anything that might cause sweating. * Try to relax and reduce stress.
