I feel so empty. This is normal for me - I've never enjoyed the same things as females my age (throughout childhood etc) like boys, music, hobbies. My family environment was very cold and unloving - parents constantly fighting and using us kids as go betweens. So I guess as a child I had more important things to worry about! I have always been used to this sort of feeling - not getting excited about going to happy occasions, parties, weddings, out with friends etc. However now when I feel down, its accompanied by chest pains and heaviness on my left hand side of my chest. Does anyone else get this? How can you help relieve the pressure/pain? Its not physical as such.
IT sounds like stress or anxiety I do that some time go to a counselor or someone that you can talk to about it.

Depression often has many physical symptoms, especially if it's quite severe. Chest pain, or a feeling of "pressure" is one of them. Therefore, the answer to your question would be to somehow alleviate your depression.. Easier said than done, as you seem to have been suffering for quite some time. I often get the same feeling/symptoms. I guess you just need to accept that it's part of your illness, and just try and do as many of the things that usually make you feel better, and distract you from your symptoms.
