My german shepherd has 2 bald spots next to his

eye and on his snout. Is this a disease? He's six months old eats healthy - doesnt shed too much. The one near his eye is a clear white skin showing bald patch and the one on his snout is also almost clearly skin showing. Is this something i shouldn't worry about? I have two pups - could the other one have been constantly biting his hair off from this part of his snout and eye? Has anyone else noticed this happenning?

Mange, thank him to the vet.I see this a lot in Shepherd. It is hard to find one well bred anymore

could be mange. I wouldn't delay, have your vet do some skin scrapings to determine if your pup has some extra critters living in his skin. Mange can spread quickly!

could be the pups but since you have multiple dogs i would suggest an exam/skin scraping at the vets....

ugh,...........if u leave him outside he may get flee's and ticks........i grew up w/ German Sheperds so i hope he's ok.....try a new shampoo*best wishes*

Honestly it just sounds like some sort of skin problem, u should see a vet. and for the lady that said German Shepard's are bred well anymore is a crock! i have a great German Shepard. u should stop parroting what you read off of other websites until u really know what you are talking about. Well...maybe it could be one pup licking another.Also, I have a three year old female, and from the time I got her she has had skin problems. She has shed like a Charlie Brown Christmas tree.Finally, I found a dog food company that serves all natural U.S. grade A meats and fresh cooked veggies.My shepherd has no more hair loss, My Border Collie has not gained an ounce, and my Basset hound has LOST a few pounds.No one scratches and digs, and every one seems happy.I also share a few of my own cod-liver oil pill with the girls every morning according to weight!Here is the web site for that food.:info@artemiscompany.com.I hope you have the success I have.
