Can you catch meningitis if you have wet hair, use hair gel and then go out during a cold morning when the outside temperature is , let's say, 5 degrees Celsius? My mom and i argue a lot about this and i want to know if it can possibly happen.

meningitis is caused by a viral or bacterial infection, and only if you come in contact with another person with it, or at least symptoms.. try wikipedia..

No you cannot. Meningitis is an infection that you get from a virus or bateria. It can also be caused by fungi, parasites, turburculosis, or the organisms that cause syphilis or Lyme disease. In very rare instances, it can be caused by certain medications. So to answer you question you will not get menigitis just from going out in the cold with wet hair.

Not likely, it is airborne. However it can be a virus, fungus or an bacteria. See what the CDC in Atlanta has to say about it.
