Few years ago,i used to brush my teeth with tobacco powder as it made my teeth whitish. Now a days i'm not using it and my teeth are turning yellowish>so i'm unable to decide whether to continue with the tobacco powder again. Please suggest.

hey Randhir,
Brushing with tabacco is not a good habit.Tobacco powder can be abrasive.
This can whiten your teeth. However, they not only whiten teeth but they also take alway the part of enamel. In the long run, this habit can create sensitivity to cold food.

I totally agree with 010081. Nothing is as effective in keeping the teeth healthy and white, as proper brushing and flossing. there's no other secret to it. Hope it helps

I've never heard of tabacco powder for whitening teeth. When I want a whitening boost I brush with baking soda and rinse with glyoxide (oral peroxide).

I use the oral peroxide a couple of times a week to help maintain the whitening, though I'm not sure a dentist would recommend this ;)
