my right eye are itchy and red?

I just had an eyes infection because a facial cleanser accidentaly went into my right eye. I went to to the doctor and she gave me some ice drops, well the pain went away. Now it is very itchy and red but I don't feel any pain. Plus my right eye doesn't look normal. My left eye looks more normal and bigger. I already put some Visine in my right eye last night, but until now it's still itchy, red, and a little teary, and doesn't look normal. What's wrong and happening?

Go back to the eye doctor!!!Itching is also a type of pain. Itching probably means it has healed to a point, but if you are out of the eye drops, you definitely need to go back to the doctor.Do not mix using Visine with prescription eye drops!!!!Your eye probably seems smaller b/c it is irritated and you are not opening it as wide due to previous pain response.Go back to the eye doctor!!!! Do NOT risk your eyesight!!

Since you are just getting over an infection, it is probably the residual of that and not pink eye (conjunctivitus). I would keep treating with the prescription eye drops for the period specified by your doctor and then if that doesn't completely clear up all of the pain, redness or itching -- return to the doctor. Visene may "get the red out" but it isn't going to help clear up an infection or get rid of itching. It may also interfere with your prescrition eyedrops.Good luck!
