I have lots of stress. When I think of the tons of things i need to do or if I'm worried over something I get a horribe "stress knots" all over my neck to the point i can't move it.Lately my neck has been KILLING me. I'm always in pain. I have tried tons of things to help me with the pain. Massages help but the pain keeps coming back. Medicine doesn't do a thing. I've also been having problems trying to go to sleep for the past 5 days. This is not normal at all for me. I really don't know what to do. This stress is affecting my health and I'm afraid it's going to get worse. If you have any suggestions please share them with me.I've tried to not think about the things I need to accomplish.

If you have enough money, go to a therapist. If not, you will have to do to yourself what the therapist would do. Teach you how to think positively, take one day at a time, appreciate more of whatever you do accomplish, etc.Get some PMA (Positive Mental Attitude) books from your library. The librarian can help you find them.Talk with friends. Work out your problems just by talking about them.Make some "ME TIME" every day. A trade-off, if you're a workaholic: for every 3 projects you accomplish, give yourself a treat. Like clean the gutters, paint the garage, and mow the lawn, and then you can have a soothing bath with a book and some aromatherapy.

I have the same neck problem...during finals I feel like a couple of elephants are constantly walking over my back. The only thing that works out for me is getting some good sleep. You should also try to work out two or three times a week (going to the gym, working out, etc). When you have a lot of things to do, you think you can't possibly dedicate time to work out...but try to. Doing exercise on a regular basis has a really possitive effect in your health, because it allows your muscles to release the stress you accumulate during the week, so you'll sleep better. Plus, it also helps you to stay focussed...I have to say it has helped me a lot.

You are not the only one who has this problem so take heart... consider what this person said here a Medical website... "Need Help Please. Stress Causes Tight Neck and Sore Wrist. Any Suggestions? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------When I am stressed, my neck gets big knots in it. When I am very stressed out, I get the big knots and my wrist hurts. It is always my right wrist that hurts. The pain is not debilitating (sp), but it does hurt. At its worst, my wrist has limited movement and the pain is constant. If my wrist bends, the pain is much worse. I have gone to a doctor who took an x-ray and he said all looked well. I have been to two different chiropractors, and they both say that I need to go to see them 3-4 times per week for several months before any changes will take place. So I am not sure if they can do anythign for me.I do not believe it is carpal tunnel or anything like that because when I have little to no stress, my wrist and neck are both just fine. The wrist only hurts when the big knots and the stress are there. Has anyone had anything liker this before, and is there any thing I can do about it? Thanks"On that website there werent many good suggestions so i didnt bother post the link. But i have told you before to ask ur doctor or even WebMD.com might have had some suggestions. Many places i have checked out suggested making a appointment with your local Chiropractor...Here is a link to a different website that suggested things to do also... see if they workhttp://www.righthealth.com/Health/knots_in_neck/-m-1-od-answers_1006041216772-s
