I was diagnosed in April I have been told there is no cure. I have vitB12 injections take vitamins and iron supliments I also take Voltarol for pain. and occasionallt anti-spasmodics.My smptoms are mild and I have been told they may not get any worse only time will tell. I will not give up and I work full time and walk at least 10 miles a day because of my job. I do get very tired and the spasm can get worse as I get tired. the key I am told is to keep active but have good periods of rest. I also have a high protien diet.

I don't know the answer to your question but if I were asking it I would search in chinese medecine. The chinese have a beautiful science that speaks of 5 elements. The nervous system is part of the water element. Ailments in this department are addressed very differently than in modern medicine. Disease is not acknowledged, only imbalance. The problem is either too much of something or not enough. Hence all things are curable. A lack of water (the element not the liquid) would cause night mares, bed wetting, impotence, nervousness or fear or anxiety, joint porblems, epolepsy etc. How does one obtain water? This is very simple and complicted. Think of a sea saw, as one child goes up the other goes down. But in the five elements, it is a seasaw with five elements to balance. So a lack of water would offset the other 4 elements. In fact the symptoms could be felt in water while the real lack is in one of the other 4 elements (wood, fire, earth and metal) Only a very skilled chinese medicine doctor or an authentic Sifu (Kung fu master) would be able to tell. The cure could be diet, every food falls under one of the 5 elements, but there are also herbs that work way faster. And then ofcourse there is kung fu. In my opinion Kung fu is the most effective but hardest way to cure oneself. I put the name of a good book below to help you get the gist of this should you be so inclined. good luck in your search.
