How long does it take to form a kidney stone

large enough to cause a problem? The period of time I am looking for is from having no stone(s) at all to having one(s) able to be identified.

you dont usually know you have them until they cause trouble.Then you could have atiny one that starts to move from the kidney to the bladder and then out and thats when the pain begins.Its not how big or how old they are its when they move or cause infection in kidney or bladder.
