Kidney problems? recognize these symptoms?

Does anyone out there suffer from kidney disease of any kind? I think something is up with my left kidney... Last year I was hospitalized for a severe kidney infection that wasn't responding to antibiotics at first. When images of my left kidney were taken, everyone (including Drs) said there was an abscess. The specialist came along and squashed that theory before even looking at the images (you can see why I was skeptical of him after that). He said it was a cyst and that the cyst is shrinking. He also said that cysts don't hurt, but mine does.So, anyway, here I am a year later with some random, unexplicable problems. The left kidney often throbs with pain (not severe, just annoying and persistent) my lower stomach is bloated almost all the time, my pee comes out slowly sometimes even though there is so much pressure and I drink and pee more than most people. I am also quite fatigued.Does this sound like it relates to my kidney? Can anyone relate to this?

hi, I would suggest getting some labs drawn. there are specific lab values that determine if your kidney(s) are not doing what they are supposed to be doing. your primary care physician can order labs for you. Once the results are in, (s)he can refer you to a nephrologist or any other specialists if necessary. Good luck!

In May, I went to the ER for side, stomach, heartburn, and chest pain. They concluded it was 2 cysts on my kidney. A month later, I had a car accident and was rushed to the hospital. At the hospital they informed they was indeed 2 cysts on my left side. I have had several UTI since then. I have had more than 20 UTI since I was 16 years old and 4 kidney stones within one year. I have had the same severe pain on the left side. Pain so severe that leaves me in tears. Doctors told me cysts don't cause pain. I have to have the kidney test done July 18 through the Kidney Assoication. Check the site out.
