sounds like another old wives tale, I doubt there's any truth to it. (They also say if you want your child to start speaking early, let him/her chew on a pigs tail. Ridiculous!)

Guess not if you do it once or twice (accidentally)-but I know I definitely would turn out frustrated if someone would tickle me and I couldn't tell him to stop...so I guess it's very possible that the poor mistreated baby would have some (maybe not speech) problems l8r cause of stuff like that:(

If that were true every child ever born would have speech problems.
I've never heard this one! No - it should not give the baby speech problems. The bottom of the foot, however, is very sensitive, and is the base for a lot of nerves. So you can trigger a sensation in different parts of the body by touching the bottom of the foot. But that is only temporary. Tickle away!!!

no someone once told my fiance not tp tickle my son because he would stutter. i laughed haha. how would tickling and laughing have anything todo with speech. i was tickled i dont stutter and so were the toher 6 kids in my family. hte only one that stutters somewhat is the 4 year old because he gets too excited before he says something and hell grow out of it eventually. thats like saying if you laugh you wont be able to talk right. i tickle my son all the time- hes 6 months and he loves it and so do i, i am not going to stop from a stupid wives tale
