birth control pill + long period is this

normal? i just started using BC pills this month on the first day of my period. i'm on my 11th pill todayand i still have my period. my period usually stops on the 3rd day before i used BC pills. is this normal?i didn't missed any pills and i took them at the same time. is there something wrong? or is this just how mybody reacts to the pill? help please?

my cousin is on the pill and still has long and heavy periods, her doc says its normal, but, we know that it is something that varies from woman to woman. hope this helps.
