...kidney problems? Had very mild stroke 6 weeks ago - left leg a bit heavy to walk with, on blood pressure&cholresteral tablets - blood test showed kidneys struggling a little (Dr's words) waiting to see specialist. Loss of feeling started week or 2 after - left side/back - both legs now. Ache at times in back.

I've never heard loss of feeling linked to kidney problems. It is more likely to be the stroke. If you have diabetes, there may be some nerve damage associated with the condition that is causing loss of feeling. The main thing is NOT to worry while waiting for further treatment. And, if you can't stop worrying, go back to see your doctor a.s.a.p.
