...cervical cancer later in life? I'm 19 yrs. old & i just found out that i have HPV and my doctor told me that it could cause cervical cancer later in life that really scares me. So what are some ways that i can prevent getting cervical cancer later in life???? Please Help I'm So Freaked out...

i think they have special kind of shots/vaccines to prevent it from happening, ask your doctor next time about it when you get a chance

Go for regular Pap Smear tests because they can determine any abnormal cells in the cervix. If it comes back abnormal, the cells can be treated before it turns to cancer

There isn't much you can do. There is a vaccine that you can get call Gardisil or something like that, and it is to help you prevent that. Having one safe and treated sexual partner would help too. Ask your doctor what to do. Being unhealthy and sexually active, especially with other people can cause your fears to come true. Good luck sweety!
