Little history-I am on my 5th pregnancy, I have 2 children. I have suffered with acne my whole life. However, when I get pregnant my skin clears up immediately, all except for one pregnancy 8 years ago- I had a blighted ovum (missed miscarriage) and from the very beginning I broke out with worse acne then ever! I am now 5 weeks along and breaking out! I am really really scared because this will be our last baby and we have been ttc for 2 years! I am wondering others experiences with acne and pregnancy (I guess I want some hope that I am not losing my baby). Also, I am 39 years old so I am wondering if maternal age might have something to do with different hormones/increased acne. Please no guessing (I can do that on my own) ONLY answers from people who experienced pregnancy acne. Thanks!

I'm the opposite. I normally have clear skin but since I've gotten pregnant I'm having problems. If you're really concerned about it you should go see your doctor. I know that's not what you probably want to hear, but it can ease your mind about the situation. Good luck and I hope all works out for the best.

I have two kids and suffered a blighted ovum this past March, and now I am 8 weeks pregnant. The doctor saw a heartbeat last week, so I know I'm not having another blighted ovum. I am breaking out quite a bit, and I normally don't get bad acne. It is definitely more than when I am not pregnant. Each pregnancy is different. I have had different symptoms each time, so I wouldn't equate having acne to having an unsuccessful pregnancy. The acne could very well have to do with hormones or advanced age. Will your doctor get you in for an early ultrasound? Mine saw a heartbeat at 5.5 weeks, so it's worth a try. I hope things turn out wonderfully for you.
