what symphysis pubis dysfunction feels like? it feels like the inside joints of my legs in the pubic area have been worked alot and i cant lift up my leg to sit crossed leg without lifting it with my hand...it also hurts when i try to spread my legs apart...could it just be the weight of the baby weighing on my legs?? I was 55kg at the start and ive put on 11kg. This is my first baby. im 35 wks tomorrow.

I looked this dysfunction up on the internet because I didn't know what it was and here is the site I got on ivillage.co.uk/.../complicatepreg/articles/0,,15_187741-1,00.html - 34k - Cached. You might want to check out what it says. It says that if you do have it there is nothing that can be done to treat it or get rid of it, but you need to let your doctor or midwife know about the pain because they need to diagnose you before delivery because of things that will have to be done during delivery. From the sounds of it you may have this disorder.

Id say get this checked out with a proffesional, but it does sound like that the symptoms your describing!Hope it gets better so,but you do realise if it is this they might suggest you have either a C-section or kneel to give birth as certain things ie giving birth can make you really uncomfortable!

hey hun first things first do not cross your legs! it will only make things worse. speak to your midwife about it i hadve s.p.d and was referred to physio but im only 23 wks so maybe bit late for you,but see wat midwife has to say. i have pains in my leg especially in bed and lower back and also pubis area it agony, i gotts wear a support belt day and night yay. sit down when dressing bottom half dont spread legs too far but dont sit with legs too close together if your still driving put carrier bags on seat and use them to spin in and out of car seats not very dignified but it helps.physio has put it down to my first baby slightly weakening my pelvis i only had sciatica last time, she turned out to be just 4lb4oz at 37 wks whereas this time this baby is possibly gunna be larger so more pressure added. but just get checked out as if it tht bad you may end up with a c-section because you not supposed to spread legs too far when you got spd bad or put legs in stirrups my friend did and she had crutches, hopefully i havent gotta have crutches bit hard with a two year old, just take it easy
