Cramping after miscarriage and D&C?

I had a D&C last week (Thur) because my baby's heartbeat was no longer detectable. Since then I had AF type of cramps, and did expect cramps because the doctor gave me medicine to reduce the size of the uterus. But these two days (medicine stopped already) I've been getting sharp pain at the ovaries (that's where I feel like at least). Sometimes on the right and sometimes on the left. Sometimes they're quite rhythmic. Has anyone experienced this and do you think it's related to the uterus shrinking? Or would it be due to building up of follicles at the ovaries before ovulation? The pain is quite sharp and scares me.

I've had one, too. And I'm sorry you're going through this. You'll have sharp pains, but just take Tylenol or Aleve like I'm sure they instructed you. Maybe use a warming pad where you feel the pains. Just so you know, I went on to have 3 healthy kids. Good luck and God bless.

I am sorry to hear your bad news..I too had a miscarriage last week and a D&C ..the cramping for the first couple of days was bearable with some ibuprofen and then all of a sudden that stoped working and the sharp pains in my lower belly would not stop..come and go,come and go. to the point where i thaught something might be wrong....but it has now been exactly one week and a day and i feel so much better..I agree with my OB that it was my uterus contracting back to its normal size..I would'nt worry unless you are still having these pains going on 2 weeks or so..consult your doc. Hope you and your family are finding positive ways of dealing with your loss, God bless...............
