It takes a week for the hormones to circulate into your entire body and become stabilized. This means after a week, if you miss a pill, you still should be protected for that day. It also takes a week for the hormones to leave the body. It takes about 2 to 4 months for your period to regulate itself. So you'll need to take at least 2 months of pills before you become regular.To answer you question, you will not have a regular period after taking only 4 pills. You have take one a day for it to work.

It will take a while for your body to adjust to the hormones of the birth control pill you're using. Sometimes it can take up to 3 months (or sometimes a bit longer) according to my doctor.If you have any concerns or questions regarding the specific type of birth control you are using, I would recommend asking your doctor the next time you have an appointment or even phone his/her office to check with one of the nurses.Good luck :)
