Stress, anxiety, and anger have a tight grip on me. I've tried philosophy (which helps a tiny bit). I eventually had to get on an SSRI (lexapro, prozac, zoloft, others) which did a magnificent job of calming me down. Truly, they are wonder drugs for anxiety for most people. And they also tone down your sex drive, which is a minimal problem if you are single. Well, got a girlfriend, and then I switched to Lamictal (mood stabilizer) and buspar (anti-anxiety) to calm down and have a rewarding sex life.Good luck. Remember, if you get violent or overly aggressive, and you know you are a little out of control, go see a doctor. Our society is designed to push people to extremes, and I don't think that is best state for our sanity.
