heart failure last year on meds but am having high heart rate? my heart has been under control with meds, but recently my heart rate just shoots up even while laying down saw my dr. & it was normal by the time I got to see him Is this something to go to the er?

It's hard to tell. Your doctor may want to have you wear a lightweight heart monitor. Then, when you feel the high heart rate, you press a button. The device then records what your heart is doing right then. The info is then downloaded and can be printed for your doctor to interpret.
