I think my husband gave me bronchitis. He's been sick a long time and just recently got told (at the hospital) that it was acute bronchitis. Starting yesterday, I started having trouble breathing - it hurts in my windpipe. I have also been coughing a bit up, but not much and not often. I have asthma and allergies, so sometimes I attribute it to that. But the hurting in my windpipe is really starting to bother me. Is it possible to "catch" bronchitis from someone else?

I don't necessarily "catch" it, you develop it. it is caused by any number of viruses that infect the bronchi but especially so when you already have a condition of the lungs that compromises your ability to breath. Go and see your doctor so you can be treated before it becomes something else.Sandy :O)

No bronchitis isn't communicable. Its an infection. You can however catch the cold or flu that caused the infection and end up with the same thing. Since you have Asthma you are more susceptible to Bronchial infections then the average person.
