It's the sugar in regular cola that is bad for your teeth, not the acidity. Diet cola has no sugar.

Not really, the primary difference is the sugar. Neither are healthy or have any redeeming qualities other than they taste good.EDIT:"Myth 4: Diet cola drinks are safe for teethDiet colas don't contain sugars that cause tooth decay but they contain phosphoric acid (and sometimes citric acid as well). These acids can cause erosion in teeth, a condition where enamel is dissolved from tooth surfaces. It's different from decay, but can be just as bad for your teeth.":

The carbonate in the soft drinks is what is really bad for the teeth. So, to lessen the effects of this, take a can or bottle of your favorite soft drink and shake it until all of the carbonate has been released. Then drink a very flat tasting beverage, but one that is damaging to your teeth. Also, try adding ice to favorite beverage, that will also lessen the effects.

Well, I personally think its less acidic making it a little better for your teeth but not too much. Diet drinks, however, are worse for your body because they contain aspartame which may cause other problems. s4m
