BACK-TO-SCHOOL-SHOPPING...My mom won't let me buy what I like! Advice...? Okay, I have enough pairs of pants for school, but I DON'T have enough shirts. My mom bought me some shirts, but some I liked, and some I didn't. So I took the ones I liked. But now she is saying that I have to wear ALL of them.(The reason I don't like them is because they don't fit correctly. She makes me wear really big clothes because she thinks I am fat.)I understand that we are low on money, especially with the way things are going with businesses lately, so I tried to compromise. I told her that I would take the clothes that she bought for me that I LIKED, and what I DIDN'T like, I would leave. This way I am not uncomfortable in what I am wearing. I also told her that I would buy any extra shirts that I might need with my OWN money. She refuses to let me do this though. I asked her why, and she couldn't come up with a valid reason, so she said,"BECAUSE!"She NEVER lets me spend my money. I know why. She takes my money when she is low. She doesn't like to admit it thoughit is NOT an allowence. the 1st answerer really made me feel like DELETING this question, because that is NOT how it is at ALL. if only u KNEW my mom and out situation.i'm not spoiled, but i see how u could think that. cuz of how i wrote this i guess...

By your money do you mean money she gives you or money you earn at a job. The fact is that clothes are clothes and they are there to keep you covered not look "cool". deal with it and when you get to be an adult you can dres however you want! BTW its pretty spoiled of you to be upset when your mom needs money and uses yours especially if its just an allowence!

Just make sure you have some money that you can spend on a few shirts you like and if you ever get a chance to go out alone or with some friends then buy some shirts and kind of just keep it to yourself, that seems like the only way it will work if she won't listen to you. Good Luck.

Whatever the reason of your mom for doing that just understand her. Always share your thoughts with her so she would know your opinion. You can suggests her sometimes it's ok if you're the one who will buy for your stuffs so that it won't be that hard for her and she should trust on you. On your part show that you can be trusted so that she'll let you buy stuffs even somethimes. Tell her that you want to help her so that her duties will be lessen.
