Yesterday I felt that my muscles were slightly stiffer than normal. I thought it would be gone by today but it isn't. I have neck ache and abdominal ache and a slight feeling of nausea. I woke up with a sore throat but it has now gone. I feel tired too.I am a very paranoid person. Is it likely to be meningitis? I have no rash which as far as I know is a good thing. If I was to get a rash, when would it occur?

The 'classic' signs of meningitis are:* A rash which does not change colour or disappear when a glass is placed against it,* Headache,* A stiff neck* Sensitivity to lightThese signs tend to take between 13 and 22 hours to develop. But they often appear just a couple of hours before a patient become critically ill.Meningitis usually presents with one or more of the following symptoms.* High fever, sometimes with chills* Severe headache* Nausea or vomiting* Light sensitivity (photophobia)* Sound sensitivity* Neurological signs such as drowsiness or confusion* Twitching* Sleepiness* Opisthotonus* Irritability* Sore throat* Delirium (particularly in children[1])* Seizures (occurs in about 20 to 40 percent of patients).* Nuchal rigidity (stiff neck, occurs in less than 50 percent of cases, but if seen, it is considered pathognomonic).* Swelling of "soft spot" (in infants)
