research diets which contribute towards a healthy prostate. Nutrition is the only thing I can really think of that may help.

Ejaculate frequently.Seriously. Removes the fluid from the prostate so the toxins don't have time to build up.Eat foods that are good for the prostate. Do a search, there are a few that help.

well they'll do their chemo's and what not. But prostate cancer is probably one of the better cancers to get if you had to get one. All males should get it, but the time frame to the age in which they get it is different. It is very slow growing and has a high survival rate. Think happy thoughts, laugh, live life. There have been many cases where cancers have resolved b/c the patient has kept a positive attitude

My father died from prostate cancer in 1995 his psa was 2471. He was 77 yrs old and definately too young to leave me, his only daughter and his newborn twin grandsons. Since his death many new treatments have come out. Prostate Cancer is a very curable cancer with a high success rate. Make sure to see your doctor regularly, dont smoke, if you do, stop. There is a link between prostate cancer and smoking. Also lower your fat intake. Good luck to you and God bless.

I just did a research study on prostate cancer cells in culture. We applied natural tomato lycopene to the cells and it slowed their growth by 25% compared to untreated cells. Lycopene ingested naturally deposits in the prostate. I cannot offer you solutions, but advice. Eat tomato products frequently. Eat them in all forms, sauces and ketchup are great sources because heating the tomato releases more lycopene from the cells. Eat them with small amounts of fats to help absorption (Like oil in spaghetti sauces). If you cannot take in the acid associated with tomatoes, buy lycopene suppliments and take them daily with meals. Eatting a small amount of tomato products with the suppliment will increase effectivness. Other sources of natual lycopene include watermelons and guavas, but again to get full benefit they need to be eatten with a small amount of fat. I think that this will be a helpful way to start your fight. (By the way Lycopene is a carotenoid in the family of Beta-carotene found ion carrots. It acts as an antioxident preventing the formation of free radicals, which cause mutations and can initiate cancer. It also slows cancer cell growth by stoping the cell cycle. Excessive amounts of lycopene have been shown to pass through the body harmlessly.)

Hi grey owlGreat to hear that you caught it early! If you were my husband, dad or brother, the first thing I'd make sure you did was to get your Vitamin D up to lifeguard level. Lifeguards demonstrate what a truly optimal Vitamin D status can be. You can't overdose on sunshine-induced Vitamin D. The body has a mechanism for destroying what it can't use.We got scared out of the sun in the early 90s and nobody told us to make sure we kept our Vitamin D at optimal levels. Now we're learning about all the cancers and autoimmune diseases that are related to D deficiency---prostate and breast cancer among them.http://www.vitamindcouncil.com/cancerProstate.shtmlSo get your Vitamin D tested. For the proper test and reference range:http://www.mercola.com/2002/feb/23/vitamin_d_deficiency.htmGet out in the sun every day without sunscreen, but don't burn. If you're not very light-skinned you'll need more exposure. Take off as many clothes as possible. At the end of the summer (or possibly right away if you can't get out several times a week) you'll probably need to supplement. Experts recommend from 1000-4000 IU of D3/day.The good news is that researchers are optimistic that Vitamin D might not only prevent prostate cancer but looks promising in its treatment as well.Best of luck to you! Please feel free to contact me and let me know how it goes.
