Boy, that's a lot of factors to look at. Chinese Herbalists are just one of many alternatives to "regular MDs", and any naturalpathic, homeopathic, or holistic doctor is a good idea.As far as taking any drugs, you should tell the herbalist anything that you are taking so that they are at least aware of it, but if they aren't licensed, you may want to verify with a Pharmacist or a doctor that knows about supplements. You can ask anyone practicing medicine to show you (or at least tell you) their qualifications... that is an important step when looking at alternative doctors, especially.I think the last thing you're referring to is reflexology... where certain pressure points or spots on different parts of your body can point out where trouble spots may exist in your body. Although I may be misunderstanding what you are asking there.

to tell a good herbalist or other alternative medico qualifications aren't much help. Some of the best qualified are no good, and some of the best are not qualified - what you need is recommendations from other people who went to someone good. I sometimes ring one practitioner that lives far enough away that i won't go to see them, and ask them for a recommendation of someone else. Often they know who's good, but if you can meet someone who's been cured that is better. If you are on drugs herbs can sometimes interfere. You have to ask the herbalist, and also maybe your doctor for information. But most of the time it is fine.I have found chinese herbs good in the short term, but for long term issues i have found homeopathics more helpful.Facial diagnosis is one of the ways of telling what is wrong with someone. You can also get the same information from their eyes, from their hands and feet, from their pulse, from their back...etc. there are many types of diagnosis. Herbalists often use facial diagnosis because it is easy to do when you are talking to someone.

Chinese herbology from a skilled and experienced practitioner can be an excellent form of treatment for most any type of systemic illness. .... When combined with acupuncture it's effectiveness is even greater. I have experienced great benefit from TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine), for a number of different problems over the years. .. I have also used it myself, very successfully to help many others with numerous problems. .. I have great confidence in it. ... but... you must know that any healing art is only as good as the practioner is skilled in it's application. Make sure you go to someone who is well skilled and experienced in this healing art.Only a skilled practitioner will be able to determine whether or not there are any 'contraindications" where your present medications are concerned. .......... Qualifications to look for would include their schooling, licensing, and how long they have been in practice as well as how well their past patients speak of the treatment and results they recieved from them.
