...unknown cause? I suffer from this condition, about once or twice a month ,I break out in hives, face ,feet, hands swell, diarrhea, shortness of breath, hypothension, and faintness. It usually happens around that time of the month. I am trying to get down to the root of its origin. Been to allergist, Gastroenterologist, Ob-Gyne and they are all stumped. any leads..I need your help

Are you keeping a food diary? Are you checking the ingredients of what you eat? My girlfriend had this and it took forever to track it down, since was not just an allergy, but a "level" of input thing. Strawberries are OK, once per week or so, in small quantities. Larger quantities cause reactions. With me, it was migraines, not the hives, but it took years of checking to isolate it to sulphites, sulphates, phosphates, etc. All those lovely little additives that so many foods have that you don't even realize do!Not to mention that if you take any types of medication, your response to them CAN vary depending on the time of month, and even a change in hormone levels might be triggering it for some reason.

I have had idiopathic chronic urticarial vasculitis for 7 years and sometimes it is accompanied by idiopathic anaphylaxis. Unfortunately, idiopathic means no known cause and for me I don't have an allergy that is specifically causing it. They manage it with a cocktail of drugs which works most of the time, but I still have episodes now and again.
