well not neccessarylly. thats like saying just because i have an alergy to milk means i have an alergy to bread. but most people who i no who r alergic to one of those two animals is usually alergic to the other.

No way, I am allergic to cats and I am not allergic to dog, if a person is allergic to animal dander then they are allergic to both But people who are allergic to cats in general are not normaly allergic to dogs.

The allergy is usually to the dander of an animal, not the fur. And though a person may be allergic to both, someone is not automatically going to be allergic to dogs if they are allergic to cats. My brother in law is allergic to cats, but not dogs. Also, there are shots now people can get to overcome allergies to pets. HTH

Not at all. I'm highly allergic to cats and not in the slightest to dogs. I even had to have allergy testing to find out my allergies, and a cat was my highest reaction and I had no reaction to dogs.

People who have allergies to dander are better off with a breed that has hair rather than fur. Poodles, Bichons, Portuguese Water Dogs to name a few are great dogs with people who are allergic to fur & dander.
